Week #16 - This Kiss

We are going country this week with the beautiful Faith Hill! Even though she's a country artist, this song crossed over into being a hit on the pop charts as well. As such, I'm sure many of us have not only heard this song...but sang along at the top of our lungs in the shower when no one else was home. ;)

This week's sponsor is once again the fabulous YourScrapbookStash.com!!!! YAY!!! They have generously donated a $20 gift certificate to one lucky winner.

We are a mother and daughter team who want to bring you the best this hobby has to offer. We look at our stash every day and are proud of the selection we can offer. We want to be YOUR scrapbook supply source. I know how hard it is to find product so we will do our best to keep items in stock so you never have to be without something. We offer competetive rates and fast shipping.

I don’t want another heartbreak
I don’t need another turn to cry
I don’t want to learn the hard way
Baby, hello, oh, no, goodbye
But you got me like a rocket
Shooting straight across the sky

It’s the way you love me, It’s a feeling like this
It’s centrifugal motion, It’s perpetual bliss
It’s that pivotal moment, It’s impossible
This kiss, this kiss (Unstoppable)
This kiss, this kiss

Cinderella said to Snow White
How does love get so off course
All I wanted was a white knight
With a good heart, soft touch, fast horse
Ride me off into the sunset.
Baby, I’m forever yours

It’s the way you love me, It’s a feeling like this
It’s centrifugal motion, It’s perpetual bliss
It’s that pivotal moment, It’s unthinkable
This kiss, this kiss (Unsinkable)
This kiss, this kiss

You can kiss me in the moonlight
On the rooftop under the sky
You can kiss me with the windows open
While the rain comes pouring inside
Kiss me in sweet slow motion
Let’s let every thing slide
You got me floating, you got me flying

It’s the way you love me, It’s a feeling like this
It’s centrifugal motion, It’s perpetual bliss
It’s that pivotal moment, It’s subliminal
This kiss, this kiss (It’s Criminal)
This kiss, this kiss

ANNOUNCING our second term DT!!!!

If you are looking for this week's challenge....CLICK HERE!!!

Originally the DT obligation called for creating lovely works of art to inspire you through the end of July, but many of the fabulous inaugural DT agreed to stay on an extra month to help me make the transition smoother. I truly appreciate it ladies. It has been such a joy working with you the past few months and I hope we'll get to see you around each week participating and giving the songs a go still!! Keep an eye out in a few months for the next DT call as I'd love to see any or all of you reapply to jump back aboard.

Our very own Ana, from the first DT term will be staying on to wow you for another several months. Thanks so much for applying for a second term...you rock!

Ana
My name is Ana White, and I am a stay at home mom to two little girls living in Northern VA. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jonathan, for 4.5 years. Prior to staying at home, I was a high school teacher. I started scrapbooking while on bed rest with my first daughter about four years ago and I was warned that it was a very addictive. Well those who warned me were right; I am totally addicted to the entire process. And scrapbooking has taught me so many things- that perfection isn’t necessary and mistakes are alright.

Liz
Hello, my name is Liz Chidester and I am so excited to design for Scrap It With a Song. I am a wife and mother of 4 kiddos (2 girls and 2 boys). We are currently living in sunny Arizona. I have been scrapping for about 11 yrs now, since my first child was born. I love to scrap for the creative outlet that it gives me and of course to document my children's lives in a cute way. ;)

Lisa
My name is Lisa Smith and I live in Little Elm, TX (in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex). I am married to Jeff, for almost eight years and have two children. I work full time during the school year as a middle school math teacher. I have always been a creative person growing up. However, I seriously started to scrapbook after Jakob was born in 2005. Throughout my layouts, you will see my family is the main focus of my layouts. Scrapbooking has become my escape and my passion! I am so happy to have been chosen as a Design Team member of Scrap It With a Song!

Kelly
I am Kelly, from Liverpool, England. I am a SAHM to 2 beautiful children aged 5 and 2, who are my main source of inspiration on my pages. I have been scrapping for around 5 years and I am completely addicted to pretty paper!! I like to think my scrapbooking style is eclectic and I'm not afraid to try new techniques... I just love to be challenged! I am soooo excited and absolutely honoured to be on the Scrap it with a song DT. I am really looking forward to working with some very talented artists!

Yay!! Another familiar face, back from our inagural DT is Tina:

Tina
Hi there, my name is Tina and I am a SAHM of 5 boys in Knoxville, Tn. I scrap to stay sane....and sometimes it even works....lol. I have been scrapping for almost 5 years....most of that time has been spent digital scrapping, I recently renewed my love affair with paper tho and you wil see lots of those kinds of LO's from me as well. My style leans towards grungy, funky, and just plain fun. Usually I talk and blab a mile a minute but I have been put on the spot here and can't think of one single interesting thing to say......LOL.

Faye
Hello, Hello!!!! I am Faye from California. I will be 31 in just a few days but I still feel young at heart!!!!! I will always love reality tv, my adorable cat Rory, and using !!!!!!!!! to make you feel my love. I’ve been taking one step at a time with my new Etsy business and I jump at the chance to create things. Music is the right stuff to me. I can change my mood with the perfect song!!! I am your traditional paper and scissors kinda material girl. My dirty little secret is that am addicted to buying pattern paper. I probably have a thousand miles of paper when you lay it all out. I have been scrapbooking since I was a P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) when I would use construction paper and my mom’s pinking shears. I’ve come a long way since then!!!! I am super excited to be a part of your world and the design team!!!

Christina
Hey...That's ME! I started this challenge blog because I'm a big fan of all kinds of music and I almost always have my iPod blaring when I'm feeling creative. Often the tunes I'm jammin to spill out onto the project I'm working on. My hope is that you can find a way to let the words and meanings found in the amazing songs we all love inspire you too. I am a 30yr old stay at home mom to 3 sweet peas in Kansas. My hubby and I have a 10yr old, a 6yr old and a newborn to keep us very busy. When I'm not chasing them around, you will find me at my craft table. My first love is good old fashioned paper and scissors scrappin', but I also enjoy digi scrapping and card making.

The new DT won't make it's official debut until September 6th, but if we're lucky maybe some of them will jump in to guest DT in the coming month as a running head start. Most of our current DT will stay on through August to help with the transition. :)

Week 15 - Somewhere Over The Rainbow

...that's where you'll find me, and the rest of this week's lyrical inspiration. Of course this song is best known by Judy Garland in the movie, 'The Wizard of Oz'. I am sure you can imagine how hard it is to find good recordings online of older songs, so this week if you choose to play the video for extra inspiration you'll hear the beautiful voice of Katherine McPhee instead.

This week is being sponsored again by the adorable Sew Many Cards!!!

My name is Angela and I own Sew Many Cards. I have a husband, an almost 10year old daughter, a two year old son, and a dog/puppy: Hershey. The images of Sew Many Cards came from a dream that my husband had of a group of animals that were "SEWN Together" with patches and stitching, hence the name, which he also came up with. You will find that every image in the Sew Many Cards collection has patches and stitching, even the ones that are not animals. I love to draw and almost every image is either an inspiration from my family or a request from my great customers and design team, so please ask if you need something specific or would like to request something be made. You can contact me at angela@sewmanycards.com

They have offered up to the winner of this week's challenge FIVE digi images from their shop. I can't wait to see what you all create :)

----------------------------------------

When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There's a rainbow highway to be found
Leading from your window pain
To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then oh why can't I

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I

This week we will say goodbye to our DT girlie, Angela. It has been such an inspiration watching your digi stylings impress us week after week. We will of course continue seeing her around the block as she will continue sponsoring us every month and a half. Hopefully we'll see her jump in a few challenges as well! So here is the curtain call for our Scrap It With a Song DT member:
Angela

Jess

Hannah

Ana

Christina

Tina

Our new DT will be announced later this week. Thank you so much for the interest you all showed in this blog through the DT call. It was an overwhelming number, but I hope we got some great inpiration for you lined up. The rest of the DT will be carrying on until the end of August and a few of them into the next term. YAY!
----------------------------------------

You will have until Sunday, August 1st at noon (CDT) to link up your creation with the inlinkz app. I can't wait to see what you all do with this song. As you've seen in the DT examples, you can rip a portion of the lyrics right out as your title or journaling or even use it to inspire your embellishments or photograph choices!
