"Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver

Hello Scrappers!! Rock Chick Carla here with your next track on the August playlist.  We are continuing our travel-themed songs this week with the classic "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver.  There have been lots of remakes of this song over the years - my favourite is the version by Chantal Kreviazuk from the movie Armageddon.

Not familiar with the song?  You can take a listen to the original here:

  2. I have a cd of John. My husband is Japanese and he is always singing Country Road:) I didn't know he sang this song, I thought only Peter Paul and Mary sang it. I grew up in New York and went to the same ballet school as Mary's daughter. She was so cute, slim and blonde just like the mother. I had no talent whatsoever though, I was chubby and goofy and drove our old Russian ballet teacher crazy, she's always yell at me "stomach in, shoulders straight". I am following you from Rome. You are really talented by the way, so creative!
